Plane Makes Emergency Landing On I-55

(From 25 News) – A plane has made an emergency landing on Interstate 55 just north of Lincoln.

The Illinois State Police is on scene of the landing. Traffic is reduced to one lane on I-55 northbound at mile post 133.

It is unknown how long travel will be impacted.

The Bloomington Pantagraph quotes a witness as saying the plane struck the roof of a car on it way to the ground, knocking out its rear window. No injuries have been reported from the plane or the car.

The Marshall County Airport confirmed the plane was registered out of Lacon. The Federal Aviation Administration’s online database lists the owners of the Cessna 182B single-engine plane as Kilo Aviation LLC.
